Thomas and Dorothy St. Jean

Pastor Thomas St. Jean is a son of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Providence, RI a member of the Missouri Synod. He was the sole Pastor at Immanuel Atkinson, NE, Redeemer Chico, CA and Senior Pastor at Faith Lutheran in Whittier, CA, and now serves Grace in Crockett, TX. He is semi-retired yet still serves Grace Lutheran, Crockett, TX. He has been in the ministry for forty-four years. Forty of them in multi racial and cultural ministries. His Doctorate of Ministry academic work was done in church studies and Islamic history which help in the Arabic ministry at Faith Whitter, CA. His spirit filled down to earth teaching style helps to draw the congregant into the study of God’s word in a fuller and more understandable way. God’s word is experienced as our Lord had intended it, as a life changing force for the lost and a life lifting power for the believer.

He and his wife Dorothy of 56 years have known each other since they were eleven years old and it was through this relationship Pastor was introduced to the Lutheran Church. They have three daughters and eight grandchildren. Pastor and Dot have worked hand in hand in the ministry for last forty-four years. Dorothy was a teacher in the early Childhood program and then principal at Redeemer Lutheran School K-6th in Chico CA prior to moving into the public school arena in the Los Angeles CA School District, until retirement in 2008.
